How Can I Help? Ways to Support GFLP
We’ve had lots of folks ask how they can be a part of the Gardening For Life Project movement.
How can I volunteer? How can I spread the word? How can I share an idea that I have?
How can I donate money?
We LOVE that our community is behind GFLP and that folks do want to jump in and help! So, let us answer your questions.
How can I volunteer?
A bit of backstory - as some of you know, the GFLP team is five women who are passionate about restoring and protecting habitat. The day to day logistics, programming, and planning happens with us when we can gather together over a cup of coffee and dream and scheme things up. Beyond that, we have amazing volunteers who pitch in for special events and such. If you would like to be on the list of volunteers please let us know. You can email backporchdonna@gmail.com and indicate “I’d like to Volunteer” in the subject line. Donna Younkin is our volunteer coordinator, among many other things!
How can I help spread the word?
It’s simple - just tell folks about us or invite them to an upcoming event. We also have a Facebook page we invite you to Like/Share.
How can I share an idea that I have for future programming or website content?
We’d love to hear from you! Email corrie@gmail.com with “GFLP Ideas” in the subject line.
How can I donate money to help cover the costs of community events?
Our goal is to provide all programming free to the community. That said, there is typically a speaker fee, venue rental, etc that we cover. We are grateful for any support folks would like to give. Because we are working in partnership with the amazing community at The Congregational Church (UCC) Tryon, donations may be made to them, while noting GFLP. These donation are tax-deductible.
