Carolina Native Nursery, a Leader in the Native Plant Movement, to Join the Gardening For Life Celebration
Partner Highlight: Carolina Native Nursery
Bill Jones and the team at Carolina Native Nursery in Burnsville, NC have been providing leadership, education and innovation in the world of native plant propagation and management for many years. In the nursery industry, their contributions have ranged from numerous articles published in trade magazines to presentations from the podium at national conferences to innovations in shipping and marketing.
Carolina Native Nursery is currently the largest grower of native azaleas in the county and their plant stock of numerous species can be enjoyed from Biltmore Estate to Central Park to Jefferson’s Monticello.
Beyond the products and services offered to the professional landscaping and nursery industries, Carolina Native sells hundreds of native plants, including native azaleas, native rhododendron and perennials to retail customers at the Bee Native Plant Shop. In addition, many locals have enjoyed a tour of the nursery through their garden club or local organization.
Bringing this all home to the Gardening for Life Project, we’ d like to share a bit of the backstory. When the vision for our community initiative was developing, we knew that we wanted Carolina Native Nursery to be a part of this, one way or another. Why? Because each of the members on our leadership team had visited the nursery and been wowed, we each had healthy, robust plants right in our yards that had come from Carolina Native and, we all knew that this nursery is THE leader in the Southeast when it comes to native species.
Fast forward and we are very happy to share that Bill and team will be on hand with a truckload of native plants for sale at the March 4th Gardening For Life Celebration, with Doug Tallamy. As one of our select educational exhibitors, Carolina Native will be offering attendees a unique opportunity to buy direct from the nursery, right here in the Carolina Foothills.
And here is more great news … Carolina Native Nursery has come on board as one of our leading Partners. It is thanks to their generous support, and that of all of our Partners, that we are able to bring this far-reaching event to our region, free to all community members. We are tremendously grateful!
