FAQ’s Regarding Nonprofit Status and Financing
Is GFLP a nonprofit organization?
No, GFLP is an all-volunteer team behind the community initiative Gardening for Life Celebration. This second annual event is happening on March 30th, 2024 and will be a celebration of healthy habitats in the Carolina Foothills. Jim McCormac will be the keynote speaker for this event.
We are tremendously grateful to our community partner, The Congregational Church (UCC) in Tryon, NC. They are serving as the fiduciary 501c3 partner for GFLP and have established a fund for monies to execute the Gardening for Life Celebration.
Will my contribution be tax deductible?
The Congregational Church will provide donors with letters stating they made a tax deductible donation and that no goods or services were provided for that donation. The church’s tax ID# will be provided on the letter for tax purposes.
What will happen to any money left over after the March 30th event?
The Congregational Church (UCC) in Tryon, NC, will establish the Gardening for Life Community Fund for monies raised beyond actual costs to execute the Gardening for Life Celebration. The Gardening For Life Leadership Team will identify projects to support that are focused on healthy habitats in Polk County and the surrounding region.
